After 7 1/2 months doing this Arbonne thing, I just promoted to regional vice president and earned the Mercedes Benz. I still think it's weird, but WOW, have I grown from this experience. My cynicism and skepticism has gone 180 degrees from experiencing first hand the network marketing industry and arbonne. I couldn't be more proud, and yes, i still feel cheezy even saying that, but it's sincere.

So, if you have wonderered why i wasn't updating recently, no I have not died, but yes, I was focusing more of my attention at arbonne for the time being. i am evaluating my blogging skills. I will have more time and so I might put more time into updating, but we shall see. :-)

Yeesh, it's been a while. I think of blogging often, but just don't get to it. It's been a busy past few months for me, so I have plenty of excuses.

I actually was hangin with my friend Jess today and she said she couldn't find my blog - SO i started to get nervous that they could have taken my site down or something for inactivity - so I decided to come make a visit! It's not so bad when I'm here, it's just I never think I have stuff to write about - haha.

Well, speaking of busy, can't stay long. I have some errands and have to get my beauty sleep. I am actually going to run in the morn and do some things before we go to RayLynn's going away party (tears!!!!!) and then to Matt's roommates "moving out" party(scary!!!).

And just small updates for people not in my life regularly, (you should call) - I have lots going on. I am making a job change and getting a cool car in a few weeks. Life ain't too bad. :-)

Hey this is Jen! I’m blogging for Suzy. Why you ask? Well, one word… slacker! Yes, that’s right, Suzy is being a slacker and doesn’t want to blog for herself. Because I’ve been with her all week and she’s paid for all my meals, she’s making me blog for her…her exact words were, “If you won’t blog for me, you won’t eat.” We’ve been having a great week here in Kansas, chatting it up with lots of folks, experiencing the local specialties (i.e. peanut butter rice crispy treats from the university dining center are the best!). I’ve discovered that Suzy is strange, but in a good way. I haven’t ever spent this much time with her all at once and it’s been quite educational. Here are the top five things I’ve learned about Suzy this week (drum roll please):

- She hates PT cruisers (We had this flashy, super-hero blue PT cruiser for our rental all week; yeah, we were cool.)
- She makes inappropriate hand gestures without realizing it; except for that day she flipped off some old lady who accidentally cut her off, I think she knew what she was doing then.
- She believes wearing her hair pulled back in a ponytail is the most appropriate, professional hairstyle while recruiting. I think on the next trip she should sport the Mohawk she’s talking about getting this summer. Email Suzy with your vote for your favorite Mohawk hair color.
- Her favorite rap star is Flavor-Flave (spelling?). There was actually this reality dating show where Mr. Flave was attempting to find the love of his life and Suzy was sad she wasn’t on the show. (No worries, Matt, she added she only felt that way before she started dating you—you’re way fly for a white guy).
- She is a cookie snob. But Suzy needs some accountability. Every time you see her, ask her if she’s made any no-bake cookies. While in Kansas, she has made a vow before God and bakers, to make no-bakes…okay, no vows were made but she did spend a lot of time talking about how much she wanted to make those cookies.

All right, Suzy, has more quirks; I just wanted to highlight a few. It’s been fun and I’m glad I got to spend this week with her. Feel free to add your own favorite Suzy quirks. She would love that.

yes, Freedom. Until this weekend, I didn't realize how freeing it is to NOT be training for a marathon. That sounds awful i know, but it's true. It was a beautiful weekend in Denver, and I had a long good workout at Ballys. But if I was training for a marathon, even with the great workout, I would be feeling extremely guilty for not running outside for a long distance. Because let's face it... you can only run on a treadmill for around 4 miles max. I can't even do that though because I get so bored. So, I just wanted to share that although I enjoy running and I hope to do another marathon... it's nice to just go workout indoors and not feel so bad.

And with working out, I just got a membership to Ballys. I have been flirting with the idea for months and I love their fitness classes and gym. So, I signed a dumb 3 year contract, which I still can't believe I did. BUT, to make it better, I paid for it all upfront so i wouldn't be financing it throughout the 3 years and paying double. Because, That, my friend, is even dumber than signing the 3 year contract!!!

So I died my hair again 2 days ago. I did it out of a cheap $5 hair color box. You can do that when you are going darker, but nit when you are going lighter or highlighting. I have had too many bad experiences. But, I am glad it's finally brown and not orange/red weird color.

Marathon!

I WON! Okay, I didn't win, I just finished, but I think it all feels the same when it's your first. I mean, the guy who won and myself ran the SAME exact distance.... he just ran it in a little over 2 hours and I ran it in just about 5 hours. It still feels great and the experience was well worth it. With minimal training, I wasn't sure I would finsih the marathon, but we finished and I am excited to do another one soon. We'll see.

A few thank yous and shouts out to give.....

Thank you to family for coming out and supporting us in the miserable freezing rain and cold. It helped so much to hear and see familiar faces and know you are supporting me throughout this gruesome process. Liz, Thanks for the refuel of snacks from the bookbag. Mom, thanks for the cheers - - no kidding, we could hear you blocks away and know where my family was because of your voice. Dad, thanks for the cheers and excitement. I'm excited to do the half marathon next year with you. Georgia & Becca, such a fun surprise to see you at the capital and have you cheer us on. Thanks for running a few blocks with us too... that was fun! Glad to give you guys a mini-workout. Abby, thanks for the support too even though I know it was too far and cold to drive out for. Rudy's was great. We had a great time hanging out with you guys.

An even bigger thank you to Dave Bell, who I work with and who made me consider doing a marathon to begin with. He is a lunatic and has done over 130-something marathons. He is great and gave me encouagement on my survival and what to expect. We also ran with him for most of the race which helped out SO much with pacing and to keep on going.

The last and biggest THANK YOU is to Matt. He says I barely mention him on the blog... so I wanted to make sure everyone knows he was huge in helping me. :) Helping me so much that he ran the whole marathon too with just a little training. As you can imagine, it helps to have a buddy to run the whole race with and to chat and encourage each other on our first. We even have similar paces and it works out so well.

And look.... I beat him... just look at the picture....

Brunettes and Jury Duty

Yeah, I totally am not good at this blogging thing at the moment. I need to get with it. But in my normal-superficial-posting style, I wanted to show my hair as a brunette. I like it.

I still have not been updating you that much though... let me think... Oh yeah, I had Jury Duty and LOVED it! Well, "Love" is strong. But I ofcourse wasn't looking forward to it and ended up learning a bunch from the experience. It was a civil trial about a breach of contract... how boring that might sound, it was actually complicated and very interesting. The best part were the other jurors actually. Spending a week with the same people really connected us and made it alot of fun. We are planning on having a Jury Happy Hour reunion in the near future. Isn't that funny?, I am actually looking forward to seeing them again.

Anyway... other than that been working alot. Getting things ready for leaving out of town. I am RUNNING MY MARATHON in less than 2 weeks!!! WOAH! So exciting! And then I come back and leave again to Pittsburgh for work. Good ol' yucky Pittsburgh. Go Seahawks!!!

Did I really just sign a petition to let "Flip," the dolphin, on Frontier Airlines fly to Mexico??? It is a ridiculous marketing thing they have been doing to promote new flights to Mexico. Obviously, the stupid dolphin on the plane is going to start making flights to Mexico, but they are dragging out the announcement. Check out the website. They even have a song you can listen to - this thing is beyond belief. Kudos for Frontier Airlines in trying to be creative. I still can't believe I actually voted. BACHELOR tonight!!

Yesss... Only 2 shows do it for me these days. Desperate Housewoves OFCOURSE and the new season of Bachelor. I tried Grey's Anatomy and I'm still not sold, although it is very witty and entertaining. I think DH is great because I've been there since the beginning and have grown attached. But, the new bachelor man, Travis, is something else (pictured left). He is BY FAR the most respectable and mature bachelor there. I am so impressed in his straight-forward communication and confidence. A huge fan! And the show has yet to turn to sleeze, but granted... it's only week 3 tonight.

So I wanted to put a little plug for the show and for this other blog. Infact, I am adding the blog to my side bar because it's so good. It's Bachelor recaps from Lincee in Texas. I don't know Lincee but received them long ago in one of the previous Bachelors. I was added to her mailing list and it kept me laughing and excited for the bachelor. They are better than the show. The Bachelor show should thank her for having thousands of people watch because of her recaps. I just wish you could have read the previous seasons - hilarious.

My favorite, so far, is Susan. Not because of the name(, but that helps). I liked her SO much, I went and dyed my hair a reddish brown. It is really brown this time - for real. No pics yet, though. Soon enough. I like it alot though. I admit that I have "hair ADD." I think I will settle brown in the long run. The blonde was fun though! Okay, she is not the reason I dyed my hair, but she is a beautiful brunette and really mature. I like her tons... down with the canada chick! Hi, let me reintroduce myself. My name is Suzy and I started this blog things a long time ago. just kidding. I am so bad though - I have been so busy and so neglectful in blogging. I have gotten the emails from people and suggestions that I need to update, and I have finally come around to my senses!

So, this is what I am actually going to do. I am going to add some entries but I am changing the date so you'll think I'm a good blogger - sneaky, sneaky. Just kidding, but I have pics and stories I want to tell, but it would make more sense if it was around the actual date. I will try to let you know of new entries and the date I have added it too. But you will likely be able to tell because of the pictures.

I have a few other announcements....
I am changing the links to the right. You have seen them over and over and its time for a change. I will tell you more about those later as I add them. This whole updating the blog thing is going to take a few days. It would be different if I kept up with this silly thing.

The real reason I have been busy, is because I have been busy Arbonning it. That is my term for doing anything realated to Arbonne. I feel like such a cheezeball, but I sincerely am enjoying Arbonne's products and business. I have huge dreams now for my future with Arbonne, but realistically I will just have to wait and see if that is part of my future. I have moved up in management with Arbonne so that has been encouraging, not to mention the pay increase making the time and effort very worth it!!! Oh, I am sure you will hear more world. You just wait! ;)

Okay, that's my update for now. My update is to tell you that i am about to update.

Before a big night on the town, Julie and I took a picture together. Thanks Matt for cutting our heads off, but it is still a good pic. She also looks great in my Strapless top. Thanks Mom for hemming the base. It looks great.

But, more about Julie... she is a great and easy roommate! The very best sincere heart in the world and just a phenomenal, amazing woman!!! I feel so balanced and feel at home with our apartment and living with her. (And p.s. - she is available - I don't know what crazy would pass her up!!!!) I drink adult coffee now!!!

Just in case you didn't know, I only drink Frappaccinos. I don't like coffee really, I really only like the chocolate, and more importantly the sugar. Everyone loves the cold frappaccinos, but for years I would get "the look" during the winter months as I order. The Look that really says: "Did I hear you right? You want a frozen drink? Dumb girl, do you see that it is snowing outside?" Instead, they quickly pull themselves back together and ask "Venti?" That is another thing with Starbucks and any coffee shop, they default to the largest size, really to take more of your money. AS IF $3.85 isn't already enough for coffee (and not to mention the calories I am paying for)???

Anyway, I am excited as I have recently discovered " White Chocolate Mochas." RayLynn always gets them, but I doubted that they would be enough sugar and chocolate for my taste! But they are wonderful and I am thrilled to not get looks anymore from employees or other people waiting for their drinks. It's great to get big girl coffee now!

My friend, Jessica, told me about it... and it is surely true. She has a neighbor with a Toyota Corolla... same color and same year as my old one,... with Texas plates,... AND an Aggie sticker!!!!! It is the twin to my old car. I sold my car with Colorado plates on it, so I am certain it is not the same car and I had a dent in the door too. But I was shocked to see how closely this car resembles my old car. woaahhh! (p.s. i felt like a stalker taking a picture of someone else's car ... i didn't feel very comfortable just for the record.)

Well, I deny my country roots, but it's true.... My parents live on a RANCH with cows and other wildlife. Specifically, Jarrell, Texas. I didn't think you would have heard of it!... Some people might have heard the name from news over a decade ago that a huge tornado destroyed the thriving metropolis of 300 people. But this is where I come "home" to on holidays in Texas.

Anyway, I was chillin at home with Mom when all of a sudden - WHAT??? Oh, just the cows are here at the house. These giant beasts are on the deck, at the door, everywhere - they have had it and they are taking over the world!!!!! Okay, not really... just a fence broke, but they really were everywhere. I tried multiple times to "pet" them, but they didn't like that idea. But I thought it was odd though to come outside and for the cows to be just hanging out. So, ofcourse I took a picture of the cows!

The other picture is a sunset from Georgetown, TX. It was so pretty from the view I was at. There are good sunsets in Texas!

The last picture is from White Rock Lake in Dallas, TX. Who knew there was this beautiful park and trails in this ugly city. No offense to Dallas peops, but you don't go there for the mountains or scenery normally. I was able to go a couple times to run around this lake. It was alot of fun. I know they just did a marathon at White Rock. Hope it went well for everyone I knew doing it.

Cold is an understatement

My backyard is the Narnia winterland like the movie! So the high for today is 7 degrees... And it is currently -5 degrees. In all of my days in Colorado, I have never felt it this cold. Just for the record, this will be my 4th winter in Denver. I think that is weird. I don't feel like I have been here that long... and realizing that makes me feel really really old for a second!

I had a great week this past week... I'll tell more later, BUT on Wednesday I was able to see a sneak preview of Narnia. It was through work and we got to go during work - SCORE! Ofcourse I am not going to turn down this event, but I wasn't really expecting anything. This movie was INCREDIBLE! It was actually more than incredible. So much adventure and excitement.... I felt like it was like Lord of the Rings, except I have never seen Lord of the Rings.. :). But it's what I would picture it to be with fantasy, adventure, intensity, etc..

Another reason I love this movie is because I remember reading the book as a kid and watching the cartoon :). I didn't expect Hollywood to stick with the original script... BUT they did such a great job. This story has so much spiritual symbolism and it is definitely in the movie, but not cheezy though. It was really neat to see. I even liked this movie better than The Passion of the Christ (Gasp!). But it's true. It tells more of the whole Story and the sacrifice...

I worry that I am blowing it out of proportion... you know when you get your expectations built up and then they are not met. I hope I am not doing that to you now. You will have to let me know if you loved it like I did. It comes out THIS FRIDAY, December 9th. I think everyone will enjoy this movie. p.s. I think it's intense and could be scary to young children, just fyi.

Hola from Dallas...

So I am in Dallas this week for work. You haven't heard from me much lately because I have been a travelling mad woman. I worked in College Station and now I am in Dallas and then I get to go home to Austin for Thanksgiving.

Last week, I did not pack correctly for College Station and I was burning up. I had to buy some cheap sleeveless shirts to wear because I did not plan correctly for how hot stinkin Texas is. So this week I took out most of my long sleeved shirts because I was anticipating the hot and warm weather... Well, ofcourse a cold front comes in to Dallas this week! I brought Denver to Dallas - it is cold, dry and sunny.... a typical denver day. I love the sunshine so that is good....but I can always live without the cold and the wind. I guess I will have to go shopping again ;).... (just kidding).

I am actually going to a store this afternoon hopefully. A visit to Dallas always requires a visit to Sam Moon if you are female. It is the best cheap accesories and girly stuff you can find. I should emphasise the CHEAP. I think it's knock off purses and accesories, but they are not knock offs to me, because I don't even know what the real ones are for this type stuff. But it's fun and pretty entertaining to watch the Dallas women fight over the goods. I also have to tell you... I really don't need anything, but how funny is it that my purse just broke this morning!!!!! So I guess I really do need to go!

hmmm...What else is new?? I am still running. I am more determined than ever now because of my minor foot problems when I run. It has helped me be more motivated in training, although training still is a tough thing. I am going to run around a Lake in downtown Dallas sometime this week - it's 9 miles... so i am looking forward to that. It might turn into a walk if my foot has problems, but I am hoping for a good and enjoyable run. Oh and a little addition to my training, I am doing the Austin Turkey Trot. It's a 5 mile run so that should be fun. My parents are going to walk the mile Turkey Trot part. Yea for them and for getting in shape!

Matt and I went to some halloween parties on Saturday night and it was alot of fun to dress up. We decided to do the cheap dress up thing, rather than spending alot of money on costumes. It was fun and we got a great reaction.... Guess what we are?:

Perseverance!

So, I am about to start week 3 of training for this marathon. This is a tough thing that I decided to do. I am thrilled about the marathon, - - but training and running has been a major obstacle. I knew it was going to be hard, but I honestly didn't realize how hard it would be just to get motivated for the runs. Like this weekend, I kept postponing my long run until it was Sunday afternoon and time was running out. So finally, just as I start running, (after 2.5 miles) it starts raining and getting cold. My new warm running gear isn't really keeping me warm in the rain and cold! So I move to a gym and finish running on a stinkin treadmill. Running in place for 5 miles is not something enjoyable. And to top it all off...my foot "pronation" caused my "plantar fasciitis" to hurt. yeah, whatever that means....but my foot feels hurt and bruised....

so the quote for the day is: "... We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us...." - Romans 5: 3-5

I have got to stay motivated for this thing! 16 weeks to go!!

Okay, I am kidding (kinda - the subject was to get your attention), but I am interested in helping Thailand women however I can. I have recently been connected to a ministry in Thailand, called NightLights, with a vision of "Guiding Women and Children into the Light."

Here are some facts about Thailand:

It is estimated that 500,000 children are forced into prostitution each year (7 years old and up)!

There is estimated between 300, 000 - 2.8 million women are involved in Thailand sex prostitution industry.

The sex industry in Thailand generates an estimated U.S. $1.2 billion yearly!

60% of women coming to Thailand participate in the sex industry.

75% have either been raped/beaten during their profession at some time.

80% of prostitutes want out, but can not because of money & jobs.

NightLight ministry has created a way to help these women by providing jobs for them, making beautiful jewelry. The cool part is 100% profit goes to the women in Bangkok trying to stay out of prostitution. They started making jewelry 6 months ago and it has exploded in the U.S., as we Americans love our jewelry and material things....

They provide ways to help and an easy one is hosting a jewelry party. In fact, I am hosting one November 11th along with a Spa Party! I have never hosted a thing like this ever before, nor have I ever been to a jewelry party, but I am excited because I want to help the women of Bangkok, Thailand.

Anyone can get connected and host a jewelry party, just let me know. I just got off the phone with them this morning and they are needing help getting their website up and developed. Let me know if you have experience with that and want to help an AMAZING cause!

I feel pretty dumb to be talking about my hair... but just to update it is not currently a total brunette. Granted, it's pretty dark, especially underneath. But it still has some blond highlights/streaks... I am thinking I need to go back and change it a little because it is rather spunky. I am always spunky with the hair, but I was wanted something more toned down.

Oh yes, this is the view of my new apartment. I have absolutely enjoyed living with Julie and the new place. I had many hesitations in the beginning, but I feel so great with everything now. (Just hesitations of distance to work and originally I had thought I was going to live alone.)

We live on the 4th floor of a condo building. Here is the view of our place towards downtown. It is beautiful! And even more at night when downtown is lighted up.

This past week of travels brought me to University of Georgia, or UhGuh as I like to say. I loved the campus and the town. I highly recommend it. Great food, cute downtown, and such friendly students. A co-worker, Natalie, and I trekked all over Alabama and Georgia for work. She was phenomenal and made traveling long hours together a blast. I laughed alot that week and worked alot too!

Here are some pics from our trip. The first is me ofcourse on a bulldog. Weird huh? Well UGA has these things all over town and they are all artsy on them. There were tons. Some really cute ones... and some questionable ones as well. I am pretty sure they stole this idea from Austin who has cows all over the town, or maybe it's all of Texas, I don't know. Regardless, I think it is a little weird and gawdy, but I did have alot of fun riding this colorful bulldog. Okay, that could have sounded bad... sorry... I did have fun finding them all and taking pictures with these doggies. Go Dawgs!

oh and a side note...It is so much fun watching these teams play football (like UGA who is doing awesome this year) after getting to visit the campus and culture. College town cultures are some of the best!

The next picture maybe only Natalie and I could appreciate. We had so much junk stuffed in our trunk - from personal to work things. So on one morning, we came to pop the trunk, and the bag was just hanging on the trunk - that is what the picture is of. We thought it was hilarious how convenient this "accident" was with the bag...we could just grab in the bag what we wanted. I don't think it is as funny now as it was then....but I assure you it made our morning....

Okay, lets go over these pictures of events from a while ago. The first is Matt and I at the Jack Johnson concert at Red Rocks. As expected, it was a great experience and fun time. It was a little crazy because they didn't have the "reserved" seating marked vs. the "general" seating marked very good. So everyone was everywhere.... well, we actually had great seats in wrong area. But it turned out okay thankfully. Everyone was in the wrong seats and everyone was just hoping no one would kick them out of their seats... we saw a few get the boot, but most of us lucked out!

The second picture - if you can tell - is from a flood in my old apartment - The Marks. Let this be on the record, they borderline suck. Well, maybe it's Equity Apartments..... but someone there or some system sucks there. This flood happened a week before I was moving out. I walked in and just thought the refrigerater was making noise...but no, not at all....the sink and dishwasher was flooding. Even more gross, it was dirty water with food and gross stuff in it. It turned out there were pipe problems and so anytime my above neighbors ran water - -it was all coming to my sink. LOVELY! It stank the whole last week was there and they even had to lift up the carpet in the kitchen. I don't think the picture does justice at all... So the flood is not why I hate The Marks.... floods and home wear and tear just happen at times and you just have to go with it. I dislike The Marks Apartment because of fees they place on you after moving out. This is where I wish we had a deposit in this situation and I will always appreciate them in the future. No one has money budgeted for this stuff after you move out. But yes, I have had to pay $200+ for one bill...and then another $80 for a utility bill that wasn't mine.... (I am still fighting the utility bill....it's not looking pretty).

I am alive and back home finally! It always feels good to be back home after travelling. I just spent last week in Alabama and Georgia. I love the South - especially the food and the people. I always have a good time there. I travelled with a co-worker from Branson and I have to tell you I have never laughed so much. It was by far one of my favorite trips just by having the fun company with me. It made working super long, tiring days not as bad... More about that trip later...

Last weekend my parents came in town to visit and go to the game. The A&M game v. CU was awful! I think this might be Coach Frans last year at A&M. With Slocum, we atleast had a well known strong defense called the "wrecking crew." But its sad when you don't have an offense or a defense.

It was fun seeing my parents up here and them getting to see my apartment and crazy life. They came up for the game. I was able to take them to my favorite restaurant No-Nos and they even endured watching Desperate Housewives with me. We also went to the A&M midnight yell practice which was great as well. It is pretty weird if you are not an Aggie... MJ told me if I bring him to another yell, to make sure he is intoxicated or something. He was joking... They did ad this new yell something about "Whiiisssstttttteeeeeee.....boom..." or something. It was so weird, and all the old Ags at this yell weren't feeling it at all as they started cussing at the poor young yell leaders about crappy new yells. Pretty funny.

My new apartment and roommate are going great. I live in a great part of town - - a few miles from downtown, a 1/2 mile from Wash Park, and a mile from Cherry Creek mall area. All in all, life is good.

okay, more updates and pictures later. Back to the Broncos game... I have Ashlee Lelie and Bethel Johnson (a former Aggie who plays for Patriots now) on my Fantasy Football team lineup for this week....

Branson, Birthdays, and Football

I am leaving tonight to go to Branson for a reunion and some work meetings. I am actually pretty excited about this trip. I do many travels with my job and with personal life, but this is the FIRST time in a long time that I don't have to THINK about anything. I'll explain... I didn't have to book hotels, flights, rentals for anyone. People just tell me where to go and then I just go. I didn't even know where I was staying until yesterday, and I am still not so sure. It is WONDERFUL to travel and not have to think of all of the logistics and details to make a smooth and enjoyable trip.

But anyway, I am pumped to go back to Branson. The first and major reason, LAMBERTS!!! Most people hate this place, but it is one of my favorite restaurants. Yeah, it is greasy home cookin' all-you-can-eat, but I just love it. They throw rolls at you and give you all the sides on your table. I have cravings for Lamberts throughout the year, but I can only get it in Missouri and then I am stuffed for months until next time!!! The other great thing about Branson is shopping. I am not a big shopper at the moment, more because my clothing budget is a whole $20 per month. Which you might think is alot, but it is NOT at all!!! And I am trying hard not to use it. Just imagine with that budget, it takes 3 months to get a good pair of jeans. Uggghhh. Anyway, they have outlet malls in Branson with steals at great places like J Crew and Banana, - normal places that are not in my budget at the moment... OH, and I guess Branson is good for the people I will get to see that I haven't seem in a long time.... ;)

So I will come back on Saturday night and then Sunday is MATT'S 29th BIRTHDAY!!!! YEAHHHH - HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY MJ!!!!
For his birthday, I got him tickets to Broncos/KC game - he already knows, dang it. But I am still so excited to go.

I have been deciding who to cheer for. Yes, I live in Denver and Ashley Lelie is on my Fantasy Football team, BUT Kansas City has a few Texas A&M players I know. Also, I could just be a brat and cheer for KC since Matt is wanting to cheer for CU at the CU/A&M game. Isn't that wrong? Shouldn't he cheer for A&M with me since he is sitting with ME in the Aggie section???? And he didn't even go to CU!!! When did I become such a "red-ass" Ag again?? I just don't know.... Anyway....

I will have to tell you more about my Fantasy Football team another time - I am so excited about my team!!! Also, just to let you know if I am MIA again from the blog...I will be leaving again on a trip Tuesday, September 27 and won't be back until Monday morning, Oct. 3rd.... It is a busy traveling time.....

"National Accident Weekend"

3 bodily injuring accidents all in one weekend.

1. The first and worst is a burn. As I was pulling out the brownies out of the oven, the door swung up and crashed into my right arm. Oh, I thought it was harmless, but then my arm has no skin, no hair, and is very red and purple still today. It is pretty gross.

2. Going to the store for some groceries and I open up my car door right on my HEAD. Ouch! Matt did this last week and I laughed and laughed. So now I have a bump on my head. :(

3. Putting together cheap furniture last night and moving the wood pieces around. The wood started to attack me and give me a huge bloody scratch on my left arm now.

I also have minor bruises and scratches all over and still many bruises from moving furniture 2 weeks ago. But I definitely look like a mess and a disaster.

Okay, so maybe the last blog was personal.... My family has asked: "What did I do to Matt?" Whatever...I just was makng fun of myself and speaking for the masses that try to hide their crabbiness. :) Someone also told me they know when to stay away since I let everyone know when that special time is.... that made me laugh. For the record, I think the crabbiness is only a recent phenomenon for me. Maybe I am in denial, - - but I assure you I am more emotional now than EVER before. Anyway, that is a weird topic.

On another weird new topic - Arbonne! So I went to a regional meeting last night. I feel like a cheezy soccer mom a little bit, but I really liked it! The women were my age and fantastic (and beautiful -is that weird to say???, they were though.). I am pretty excited about using natural health and facial products. Yeah, ask me more...I guess I sell Arbonne now and easy ways to make extra money.

You know that monthly time for women??? Well, not to gross you out,(sorry)...but it is that time. I am a big personal proponent in not telling anyone and keeping it a secret. I do that so no one can say or think.... "You are just PMSing..." OH, I HATE that statement! (Don't all women hate that statement????.... Especially if made by the MALE species...) It totally discredits all women's feelings completely. So rather than admitting my hormones might be affecting me, I just ignore it and go on with life and assume I am operating in normal function.

Well, after careful review of this past weekend, I WAS OUT OF CONTROL!!!! Granted, I am still a proponent that my feelings were valid, but I was so hypersensitive and I can't help but laugh now in how it affected my attitude and how I was with my friends. My roommate is the one who helped me admit my sensitivity this weekend. Basically suggesting that it is always good to wait until after this time in the month to do anything on your own judgments, because they just might be impaired.

Well, I am here to admit, I was a Bear and kinda embarrassed now. Maybe I should not be so stubborn in admitting that this could possibly affect me every once in a while. :( :( Uggghhhhhh......

On another note, :) - it was a great productive weekend. I went to Colorado Springs with Matt and ended up laying grass or sod or whatever!?!?! Yeah, I never thought I would be doing that. It wasn't bad, but I am so sore now. That stinks.
The next morning I ran 5.5 miles - yeah!!!! I am trying to get back into running...I have taken too much time off lately and now that I live right by Wash Park, my excuses are running out. I was also able to hang out with my Boulder friends, Kim and Kristin and see their CUTE houses and rooms. After that, went to church and hung out with another friend. All in all, It was a good weekend!

The sad part, besides my hormonal-attitude-denial, is the Broncos lost. They did so good in pre-season and then lose to Miami. Stink. Texas beat Ohio State in a great game. I know, I know -- I am an Aggie!!!, but I still like UT when they are playing sometimes.... but don't worry, the Aggies are still #1 for me....
Speaking of, they lost to Clemson last week! UGGGHHHHH!!!! Coach Fran? Hello? 2 point conversion!!!

They will play this weekend against SMU. I will be attending the Denver Aggie Club watching party again downtown - it was a fun time last week. Let me know if you are interested in joining.... you really can't beat Aggie football, the fans, and all of the traditions!!!

Well, I think this is so funny. You know those network marketing gimmicks people do? Oh you know what I am talking about. Everyone knows about 10 Mary kay consultants, a pampered chef representative, and who knows what else. They have toys, purses, health and wellness products, phone service of all sorts. And selling these things seem great for middle-aged women especially looking for an extra buck and having some "flexibility!" (Quotation marks because these things take alot of time and don't seem too flexible if you want a paycheck).

Anyway, to cut to the chase - I would NEVER do network marketing. Maybe another time in life when I am not working so much and I am home with thousands of kids. But right now, NO! My priorities are consistent income and savings for now,- not commissions and uncomfortable pushy selling situations. But I think these things are great though don't get me wrong. My family is really into Nikken products and selling those. And I think they are great. It is not in MY priorities to sell anything though and buying any products that I might not need or use. I know, I know we all "neeeeeeeeddd" these products is the underlying message (and goal) in all sales and advertising, right (and they always do a good job convincing suckers like me ;) ) And network marketing is really great in creating teams, leadership, and friendships. Granted, some of these relationships could be on the fine line with really bad motives for the extra buck and selling, and not so much for their interest. But that is all apart of the selling game. It ALL has motives.

With that, I don't think that it is bad. We need money to survive and I would LOVE to help out friend's home-based businesses more IF I was in a better shape for my future (meaning savings, etc.). I refuse to use the credit card for anything, and now with the new car, the budget is looking pretty tight. But I don't think these things are bad at all and we should support our friends. But MOST network marketing companies aren't in my budget for spending. Basically all of this is to say that I am not a "sucker," I am very much a skeptic of anything - my attitude has always been - Network marketing is good for them, but NEVER for me.

SO CONTINUING ON IN MY STORY.......... Jump to last year, I had heard about ARBONNE products in California. (I know you are already seeing where I am getting at- LOL) Arbonne is some European facial health and wellness products. (Dare I say - it could be competition to Mary Kay in the facial/makeup products AND Nikken products with the vitamin/weightloss things - and my sister does both - I am such a jerk. Love you Liz!) ANYWAY, I heard about Arbonne first at a spa/salon that used them (I didn't go to the salon, just was looking at products) and then from california as it is the craze with some celebrities and a good friend Julie Wood who is doing it. I mean, she is about to quit her job possibly. But she is so good at this type thing and just loves ministering to women and loves these products. I have seen other friends from college as well do these and be pretty successful. I kinda have always wanted to use Arbonne, I just didn't want to sell anything. I already use Mary Kay and have for a long time....I have been wanting a change and really wanting something organic, natural, and without mineral oil. After a friend of mine started to sell Arbonne, I just now decided to switch (Sorry liz again, I will still use some MK products I am addicted to).

So as I was hearing about Arbonne, I kept saying....I refuse to sell anything and even this. Well, when i found out I only had to pay only $29 to become a seller and to get the discounts.....that was worth it to me. SO YES, I GAVE IN. I am now a "consultant" (or really network marketer) for Arbonne. Really, my selfish motive is to use the products for myself and not sell it. I can't imagine how I have the time to sell. But they do have an easy way to "sell" Arbonne without having to host parties or anything like that. I'll tell you more later or email me.

So this is my funny story. Basically, I now am selling Arbonne when i said I wouldn't sell anything. You will probably hear me talk more about it and I will share ofcourse (that is what network marketers do - share and sell). But I am confident in the products and excited to use them for myself. As far as selling, I'm not to sure.....it's not a priority at all. But with no real costs to sell Arbonne and not having to put a huge "investment" on my credit card with Arbonne products, --I feel good about this situation and don't see any loss at all. One of my ultimate priorities in this time of life is financial freedom and being smart in my choices for my future and I feel good that Arbonne could be one of the only network marketing companies that goes along with that and me not being a SUCKER!

I can't even imagine what these people are going though, it is very sad indeed. We are absolutely not in control of this world are we? We might can work, have money, and build up all our treasures on this earth, just for them to be destroyed. It is always a humbling thought to realize we are not in control and that God is absolutely sovereign over this world.

Anyway, very upseting for these people and the stories we all hear on the news and about the children. Most people that know me, know that I want to adopt when I am older. I plan to have my own children first and then adopt two children later in life. If i was in a different period of my life, I would absolutely take in a family in my house or adopt to take care of some children whose families would be lost. But I guess for now, I can donate my time and resources.

I am going to try to get over one of my biggest fears and donate blood. Wish me luck. I will let you know when I do. I still am mentally preparing for this.

Third car for the year - - but this is the best!!

Well, I can't believe I stumbled across this great deal. It is a used Ford Escape. It is the car I wanted to save up for actually. I was just looking for another really old reliable car to get me by to be able to save up more money for a future nice car. But, all of a sudden, I stumbled across this great deal that I couldn't give up. I am so excited about it all. Power locks and Power windows are all new things to me. It was great to help me with my move as well! :)

I have been moving which has taken over my life. I am finally moved and settled, so that is GREAT. But I think I can serve as a great example of what NOT to do as you move.......

1. Don't pack or use boxes - this technique allowed me to move everything in my car without having to spend extra time packing it up. It also allows me to just put things away as I moved them over to the new apartment - sounds great, huh?
FALSE - This method did allow me to put things away, but also caused lots of unneeded stress. This process took the whole week and made everything drag out. This technique also didn't allow for people to help me. I just couldn't say come over and help, because I made it a difficult process. I wish I was rich.... then I would never move again. I would just have people move all of my stuff for me and put it away.

Another wrong method...........
2. Don't use help. Don't inconvenience anyone else!
WRONG AGAIN. By default because of #1 it was hard for people to help. But I was so unorganized in my packing and moving process that I never coordinated times and had people help. I accept the blame for my stupid moving techniques. It is just hard being a single girl away from your family sometimes. But it is all good and I am moved.... And I will pack things next time and be better about it all.

With the new place..... no doggies allowed for me and I signed a year lease. I am pretty bummed about that because I was looking forward to getting a little doggie. But I have already convinced myself this is smarter and I can save more money by not spending on a puppy and all of the caretaking it would need. So that is okay. I will tell you what stinks though.... I am renting a condo in a a complex. So dogs are allowed in the complex, just not with my landlord/management company. This is another reason why is it good to possibly buy my own place in the future so I can make up my own dumb rules. :)

Muddy Buddy 2005

This past weekend we did the Muddy Buddy race. www.muddybuddy.com They do one in Austin as well - I highly recommend it to everyone. It is a partner relay race with running and biking. It's only for 6 miles and you also go through obstacles and a big mud pit at the end with your partner. It isn't just coed partners... there are female divisions an male divisions.. just to let you know

Some other couples did it with us as well. One was Kristin and Paul from A&M with me. They are great athletes. They came in 10th place(, and their time was so close to the top 3.) The picture at the bottom shows all of us and another couple, Matt's roommate and girlfriend. You can see before pictures when we were clean (3rd and 4th picture) and then the obvious after pictures. I also put a picture of the mud pit up (2nd picture) so you can see what it looked like at the end. You guys all have to do this race next year! We are going in for the WIN next year, this was just our practice! ;)

New roommate

I am about to move to a new house or condo. I am really excited. We are trying to find the best situation for us both - location and price and space, etc. I should know by this next weekend what the verdict will be and hopefully what my new address will be!

Extreme Makeover: House Edition by Suzy

Okay, so this is the real reason I was so busy lately. I undertook a project to redecorate a classroom at my work. The classroom was nasty and old and just cluttered. I have a before picture:

I know what you are thinking. You are like... "Suzy, the room doesn't look bad at all! What are you talking about?" And I know...this picture doesn't do it justice. Everything has been cleaned out by this point...posters removed, vacuumed, etc. In fact, we removed a sofa that had a dead mouse underneath it, as well as many other items and food. Gross! I mean this room was sketchy. Also, in the picture is a sofa and a table we had already gotten really cheap. $30 for both. And the sofa is nice and super comfy.

My life is always an adventure obviosly. I tend to get caught up in things and make projects bigger than they have to. It is a part of my perfectionism and wanting to do things really good always. So ofcourse when someone mentioned I should dry wall and texture the wall before painting... I didn't hesitate...

It was a bigger process than expected....

Here are some after pictures off the whole thing....We painted the textured wall red and redecorated with some items to create a warm and better atmosphere....

I am such the Golfer!!!!

I am such the golfer.... okay, just kidding. We went out for a night of golf. We went to the driving range and then to Putt-Putt. Nobody really knows that I have been on a putt-putt strike. It's because I hate the dang game, more because I always lose and it makes me lose my patience. I would say I am a very patient person, but with Putt-Putt only.... I am out of control with frustration. So anyway, it has been around 4 years or more since I last did Putt-Putt. I am not even kidding. It could have been longer than that. I always avoided going with groups in college or would just hang around and socialize and not ever participate. But for the record, on my first day back.... I did beat Matt! Yessssss! (Only in Putt Putt though....- and it was really close and could have been considered a tie....) And I thought he was "good at all sports."...... ;) jk

I did have a harder time at the driving range. It was alot of fun.... but I actually only HIT the ball about 20% of the time. :( I think this is me pouting after missing the ball again.

Uhhhh.. do you like how I line the balls up on the ground so I don't have to reset them each time.

I think this picture was taken back in the beggining of August. Matt and I went out with some of his friends. I don't remember when we went out. Not because I was drinking...it just seems like a long time ago. The only thing I remember is I was really quiet. Some people don't even know a quiet side to me,-- but on rare occasions, when people first meet me, they think I am shy, quiet, and reserved.... It has been busy I tell ya!!! I have been spending alot of time up North helping at our property and doing things. I will update you more on that later. :) But here are some pics of the last few weeks...

First of all, Apologies for saying I did nothing that weekend, because I forgot at the time that I did. I went to casa bonita with Kim and Kristin and some people from Boulder. It was a great and random time. Casa Bonita is an interesting place. I highly recommend it for tourists with children, but do not ever go there for the food. I did convince them to let me get a kids meal though because I did not feel good or feel like eating anything there. Casa Bonita is like a Gatti-land on crack. It has cheezy games, and caves, and waterfalls, and cliff-divers, and free soapapillas. i don't know how to spell that word..

The last 2 Tuesdays I went to Red Rocks for Film on the Rocks. It was grand! They play movies on a huge screen on Tuesdays at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. I went and saw Goonies and The Princess Bride. Both are classics. In fact, I don't think i had ever seen the entire movie of Goonies before, or atleast I didn't remember it. This is a pic of the amphitheatre there at night. Downtown is in the background and you can see some of the Red Rocks around the amphitheatre...

Here is Kim and I at The Goonies movie before it starts. oh yeah, they have bands that play beforehand on the stage so you can hang out and eat dinner and save your seats before the movie starts. It was a cold and rainy night this night, but it was worth it and never rained in the movie :). Score!

Here is my weekend update. I really did absolutely nothing. And it was great!I was able to hang out with my old middleschool friend, Mandy, so that was nice. On Sunday, I had intentions of going to Waterworld with Matt (and originally more people). It didn't happen as the day lazily progressed. I don't know if "lazily" is a word, but you can probably imagine the definition. We still want to go to Waterworld, but time is running out. Maybe next Sunday, August 14th - check your calender Denverites.

I think I am going to be late to work again this morning. I used to not be like this, but oh well. That happens sometimes....haha, or more often than I will admit on here. But I assure you, I am a hardworker and will put too many hours into my job at times,....this is just a slow period of time and lazy one for me.

Oh, thanks everyone for the doggie comments. I am leaning towards a Yorkshire Terrier for now. (And Ashley, I do really like Schnauzers as well.) I am really excited to get one if it could work out...but it won't be for a while. I am dogsitting/housesitting for my friend Susie this week.... and I LOVE playing with her dog and being in her backyard. I need a backyard. Anyway...I need to figure out where I am living next (Aaahhhh!) - -and then I can pursue getting a doggie. Sorry, if you thought I was getting one right away. I have some form of ADD I think and can get excited really easily about things before thinking them through, etc... :)

Lastly, I have added some things to the blog template. I did the cool name thingy at the top. (http://www.metaatem.net/words/ ) And I added a banner in the top right from www.One.org on poverty.

I also added more links to the right side. Links that I really like, but you might like as well. I will point out a few....

"The Real News in the World" - this is the news at BBC. It is more accurate than our American news which is sometimes one-sided or with another political purpose in mind when reporting. So, that is a good site.

Another is "Eternal Revolutions" - this is another blog site by some people talking about modern day Christianity issues. It is from a branch of my church, www.pathwayschurch.org. So, when you are needing to pass the day at work, feel free to read some entries from there.

There is also "The Penguin Times" - this is another blog site by John Bingham. He is a marathon runner, and writer, and motivational speaker. I am reading some of his books right now, so I thought reading his blog was kindof interesting as I am getting to know hom more through his writings and encouragement. Blogs are weird, huh?

The other things I have on there are silly for the most part, but sites that I like...

Healthy Facts - It's Prevention.com. Another good site for tips on recipes, health, working out....
Homestar Runner - A silly animated website with goofy cartoons. It is really goofy, but entertaining.
MovieSpoiler - okay, this is the only way I can see a scary movie...is reading what happens in the end first so I won't be AS scared and to evaluate if I want to see it. It is helpful for us wimps in scary movies.
Addictive game - It's Retail Alphabet. Entertaining.
Fireworks Show - this is just what is says. Nothing really. It is a link from my sister.

Yes. Single white female seeking cute, small puppy. :) If I were to live on my own... a puppy is a must. I have been wanting one for a while and I trully believe it is the next big step I should take. It is a toss up between a small lab or a small cute doggie. A small cute doggie fits better with my apartment lifestyle, since I have no backyard or anything like that.

Soooo... if you have connections or hear of cute small puppies for sale, call me and let me know. I will drive anywhere to get one (or ship). They are pretty expensive though, so I am looking for a deal. :)

Broncos Training Camp

I had a good weekend. I don't even remembered what I did. I hung out most of the weekend and relaxed.

On Friday, Matt and I went to the Opening Day of Broncos Training Camp. This happened to be the same day that I couldn't get tickets to Broncos v. Chiefs game. I tried to get them for a birthday present (I don't care if they know now that I tried since I couldn't get them...) , but it only took 7 minutes for them to be gone on ticketmaster. I was so upset. I planned and waited patiently for them to go on sale, but it didn't help. This was my chance to possibly pay face value for a game, but nope. But thats the thing with tickets in the 21st century. Everything is online so thousands of people can buy the same thing at the same time... meaning tickets sell out in minutes these days. What is the world coming to?

Anyway, here is a pic from Training Camp of Rod Smoth and Jerry Rice. By default, I am a Broncos fan because I live here...kindof how I became a Nuggets fan too. But, I am still loyal to college football and especially the Aggies. Forever brainwashed.

Well, I signed up and paid for the Austin Marathon today. I am nervous, but I imagine that I can always do the half-marathon if all else. That's a pretty bad attitude, huh? It is discounted if you sign up before August 1st, but you can always still register up until January, for all of you thinking about it. :) :)

There is a quote that I read that says it takes more courage and a greater challenge to decide to run a marathon than actually crossing the finish line. I believe that because I am so scared about committing to this. So, I guess that means you should send your Congratulations now since I paid for it, right? :) okay, just kidding.

Isn't that a creative title? I just wanted to announce that it is weird without my piercing. I am getting used to it, but it is really weird. I notice it now more OUT of my mouth, than I ever noticed it IN my mouth. But I guess over time, I will get used to it. But I am being an adult and mature.

Speaking of mature, I finally revamped and did my budget. I have to brag because it is so beautiful and fun. (Thanks to Matt for helping tweek it and catching wrong formulas -oops). But, to all of you who don't budget, call me a nerd, but I HIGHLY recommend it. Its almost a game to me to see how much I can save on expenses and in my Savings and paying off debt. If you ever need help budgeting or want a great template, just let me know, and I would be glad to share with you my creation and treasure. It really makes budgeting so much fun. I stopped budgeting for a while because my work computer crashed, but now I am back and not relying on one computer anymore.

Goodbye to Piercing

Yes, I am taking my tongue ring out this week. I forget I have it all the time, ... but it is about time that this relationship is over. I have had it for now....4-5 years, I don't even remember. I got the piercing, assuming I would take it out the next summer to work at camp, - - but I have it still today, never having to remove it for any jobs yet. It is kindof hard to let go, when I don't even see it or remember I have one, but it has been long enough. I assure you I will never get one again in my tongue atleast. And to everyone's fears...my teeth are great, my speech is fine, and my tongue is still perfectly intact. I highly recommend it. :)

Rafting!!!

Rafting was a blast. We went down Royal Gorge on the Arkansas River. My dad and Matt went (you can see them in the front) and I am in the back "rowing" or off in my own world. Just kidding. That is just what it looks like in the picture. I am sore from rowing though :).

I was terrified before going though when they were giving the safety talk for Rafting. I thought for sure someone would fall in and I would freak out or I would fall in. It was fine. We went on some "Level 4" rapids, whatever that means. 5 is the highest level of rapids. It really wasn't that bad and you definitely get used to it.

Pikes Peak

It was beautiful up there. We spent the day in Colorado Spring visiting Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. Who knew Colorado Springs had soooo much to see? ;) just kidding.

My Dad has been in town for a week "vacationing." It has been fantastic hanging out and doing some cool thing around Colorado.

Danskin Triathlon

Triathlon Day!
It was a blast! You swim for 1/2 mile, 12 mile bike, and then 3.1 mile run. Although, I was wearing a GPS Navigational watch, and the watch said the bike and run were alot longer than that. Who knows. I finished, so that was positive. I did better in swim and run, but the bike was alot slower than last year. I was using a mountain bike and it was windy. Those are my excuses atleast, but I really think it did slow me down.

I recommend everyone doing this race. It's so fun and encouraging. They have one in Austin every year also!!! So get ready family! ;)

So, I have been gone a long time from my home and my bed and my life in Denver. I am sooo ready to get back. Not that I don't love travelling, I just hate living out of a suitcase and always on the go. I got to hang with family in Sacramento yesterday which was wonderful. I wish I could see those guys more, but it doesn't always work out. We agreed I need to come and spend more time there and vacation, not just come and go because of work. I'll put pictures up later of us there.

I would like to tell you what I am doing this fine Saturday morning. I got up at 3:40 AM, yes AM to get ready, return rental car, yadda yadda... to basically catch a 6:30AM flight. I am attempting to go standby, so I can have somewhat of a day in Denver to get things done and sleep. BUTTTTTTT, it is my very UNLUCKY day, because getting up that early will not pay off at all when the plane is DELAYED! OMG! It is now delayed 4 HOURS - I will be spending 6 HOURS in this airport. They just delayed it again, and who knows how long more. They do have internet wireless here which is my lifesavor at the moment, but it is more annoying than useful. It kicks me off every few minutes.

It is unlucky for me, but REAL lucky for my ride from the airport. They accidently stayed out too late last night and wanted to sleep in. I was thinking they were going to be crabby and exhausted, but that wasn't my fault... :). But no, it is their lucky day as they get to sleep in for 5 extra hours. Oh, you know who you are..... Hope you are enjoying your bed this morning. I am enjoying these comfy hard terminal seats. And my family in Sacramento is enjoying pancakes this morning that I could have stayed around for.

Such is life and the choices you make.... i guess the moral of the story is.... call and check if the plane is on time next time...

My time in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz was a blast. Like I have said it is not as fun travelling when you are not with the people you love. I still have fun and will get out there to see things on my time off, but sometimes I want to share it with others. Katie came down and joined me in Santa Cruz for some of the time, so that was nice. I had a good time with her.

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE JACUZZI HOT TUBS.

Okay, this is funny. I was running in the hotel workout gym that overlooks the jacuzzi outside. It wasn't completely out in the open, but it is in front of the workout room and you have to go through the workout room to get to it. I was running and minding my own business. There was a very very very old wrinkly guy in the jacuzzi in front of me. I didn't think anything. The old guy was cute and I felt sorry for him and wondered what his story was. I was still running and old cute guy decided to get out of the Jacuzzi. (I am still scarred)...... but the old cute guy was ..........NAKED. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!! COMPLETLEY NAKED!!!!! He is not a cute old guy anymore.he just was chillin naked and even sat down before wrapping the towel around him to exit. Aaaaahhhhhhhhh. I am still scarred. I passed an old guy in the street the next night and I could only think about an old, dirty, sicko, naked man. ewwwwww. Sooo, stay away from those hotel jacuzzi hot tubs.

Wedding weekend with the College girls...

The weekend has been wonderful with old college friends. I laughed so much between being on the B team and the HP Husbands.Here are some pictures from the weekend. Don't they say a picture is worth a thousand words.... or something like that.

Here are all the girls at the rehearsal dinner. Pretty silly at times. I won't even go through the names of people. They are all great. And sorry, most of them are taken and now married (and even have babies). ;)

Oh, the traditional roomate pictures. I lived with these girls my Senior year of college and still to this day, we are taking "Roommate pictures," It's great.

Most of us were in the House Party (or B team) and so we wore black. It looked great in pictures though. Somebody asked if we coordinated it. HaHa. Here is Kelly and I doing House Parties duties...cutting the cake with our cool food service gloves on...

Why do I do this? Why can't I sleep when I travel anymore? In Denver, easily I can wake up 10am or 11am, but in Texas.... I get up 7am and 8am and with the time difference that is just plain ridiculous. I will spend this weekend in a hotel room with friends and hoping for some quality sleep, but I just don't know if I can get that now. So weird.

US Womens Open

Today I went and helped out with taking the TSTL Urban kids to the Womens US Open Junior Day at the Cherry Hills Country Club. It actually was the first time I ahve ever been at a nice country club or been on a golf course. I know, I am totally pathetic. But it was cool. Got to meet John Elway and get his autograph, got other golf people's autographs. I really didn't know any of them until today. But now I might watch it on TV and pretend to be a fan.

Past Weekend

It was a great weekend. layed out in the sun, hung out with friends, went to Colorado Springs, and ended it with The Melting Pot last night. It was so much fun, I am a little stressed today to get everything done at work and get ready for my long long trip. Sometimes I just can't wait to not travel anymore... atleast for work... vacation travel is very different.

Soooo... I am thinking about doing a marathon. I am looking at doing my first in Austin, TX. I could see my family (you can all come cheer for me :) ) AND I could probably breathe better there in comparison to the high altitude here. So I have until Aug 1st to sign up for the discounted rate.

The marathon would be FEBUARY 19, 2006. You can look it up at www.motorolamarathon.com if you want to find out more OR if you are interested in joining me :) . That gives me 247 days to train, although I probably wouldn't need to start training until November....

I am doing another Triathalon this year in Denver on July 17th. I am looking foward to that and am in pretty good shape this year. My swimming has very much improved, although I still have not mastered the freestyle. (Mastered isn't even the right word... I just can't plain do it.... breast stroke and side stroke for me). I have been thinking about taking a swim class to improve and learn.... hmmmm....

I am looking into some other races too... The Muddy Buddy in Boulder - bike & run through mud....sounds fun and... messy!! That is at www.muddybuddy.com. That race is on August 21st....

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you all know I will be coming in to Texas on Tuesday, June 21st evening and then will be there throughout June 27th morning. Thanks to Liz/Les for letting me borrow their car. Hope you are having fun in Myrtle Beach! I am jealous and wondering daily why I am not on the beach somewhere at this moment.

I will be working for some of the time in Texas and visiting camps around Austin area and some other groups that I will be speaking too. I am intermixing it with family and Tiffany's wedding weekend. I am excited to see ol Chi O friends there, should be a good time. Any takers on someone dropping me off at the airport so early on Monday morning to come back???... I mean we would be leaving the house at 4:30am - woahhhh.

I will be going straight there to Northern Cali for camps. I am not so excited about Cali as I will be by myself most of the time. I am getting to see Uncle Tom and Patricia, and possibly Uncle Bill and Mark if he is still in town. So that will be fun to see them. That will hopefully make up for the lonliness of the trip. Northern Cali just doesn't excite me as Southern Cali does. But I know its all beautiful!

MJ is in the Springs helping his parents out and I am here dedicating the night to resume and watching that stupid show Chaotic...

Okay, speaking of Britney: Chaotic... I mean, the show SUCKS, but I get so fascinated sometimes. I do have to admit... but I cried watching the show tonight... (Its an emotional time of the month....;) so that is my excuse)..... It was the finale where it showed her wedding and baby stuff. Ashley's graduation

Yes, my 18 year old niece, just graduated from high school. So weird, but I am excited for her. UNFORTUNATELY, she is going to George Washington in DC to be closer to the political scene. So that is good, it will be a great experience. That first year of college is so transforming... finding more about who you are, starting on the road to independence, and for the first time appreciating your roots and family sometimes.
So here is the little graduate and myself....

And speaking of politics... I have to admit I wish I was in Europe to go to the Live8 concert at Hyde Park. It is for gathering support in fighting off extreme poverty. 8 men will meet on July 6th and will have the opportunity to double aid and drop debt. Its pretty cool. Tempting to go to the concert, but not that tempting to put a dent in my budget for the flight alone. Oh well. Here is the website. http://www.live8live.com/ Go check it out... At my parent's ranch... some of the dogs had new puppies. So cute. I really really want to get a small puppy this year. Another thing that I am not sure I can commit to financially. We will see. If I got a doggie, it wouldn't be until the Fall and it would be a small one that I could take on planes when I travel. I want a doggie, but it is the trendy thing to do....so it makes me not want to do it for that reason... Anyway. Here is my precious nephew, Lance, holding one of the puppies...

Oh yeah it has been so long. I have been busy and just plain lazy too at times. The whole blog thing is crazy because you don't know how much you want to put out there... but oh well, right? Life goes on. I went to Texas for Joni's wedding and got to see tons of old great friends. And me and weddings...I tend to get teary and emotional... it really is bizarre. But I do just love weddings and the excitement. Who you commit to be with is huge and can be life-changing... exciting and scary.

So this was some of the people at the wedding. I am in the orange dress ofcourse.

So Ruth is gone right now too. She left to go to Texas to visit family and then go on a mission trip with her family to Jordan and then to visit Israel. It should be a fun and great trip for her family. I am glad they are able to go. I have to give a shout out to Ruth's dad who helped me get my prescription for glasses. Yes, I had to convert.... ugghhh. I now wear glasses. The good thing is I don't have to wear them all the time, but who knows when the day will come that I will have to. But for now they are for driving and bright colors like movies or things like that. They make the WORLD of difference. I couldn't believe when I put them on, ...I could see LEAVES. I know that seems silly, but it was true. I didn't realize the globs of green I saw in the grass and on trees, but with glasses they are defined and rustle in the wind.

I know. I know. I start this blog thing and I can hardly keep it up. To my defense, I have been obsessed with my job. My job overtakes my life and time during this recruiting season. It makes a personal life or any life very difficult. When I am home and resting, I want to be resting and relaxing and so all my apologies to this blog or to even talking to friends and family lately. My job will slow down in the summer...wheewww...

There is so much you have missed though....

After Florida, I went to California. Cali was good. Cali is always good and it is always calling my name to move there. RayLynn was with me and it went really well. A friend of us both passed away and we ended up staying in cali for the services. The family was touched at us going there. It was really neat and I was very glad to go. It was a sacrifice for me though to give up my weekend and miss out on plans I had already made. I am glad I stayed and went though.

There has been personal drama in my life (especially the week in cali) and that is actually another reason I have not written on here. Some might say, I bring drama... and I really hope not. I am trying to make the right decisions and do the right things, but sometimes I fail.

After Cali, I did not go on the other trips planned. There is just too much to do and I am drowning with everything at work. Instead, I was able to stay home and celebrate my birthday. My birthday was perfect. I wanted low-key and that is what I got. Just a few friends out to eat and that was perfect. I didn't want a celebration or alot of people - my job surrounds me with people and entertaining all the time, so low-key was great. Afterward, I met up with MJ and his friends. It was fun.

I have to brag at what MJ got me for birthday. MJ got me Jack Johnson concert tickets at Red Rocks. This is a sold out show and I know he had to pay alot for these bad boys. He is so sweet and I appreciate him and his friendship tons!

Well, time for me to sign off soon. Got stuff to do. I will be going to Texas in a week and a half for work and then to visit family. I am pretty pumped to be there.

Can you believe this??? Its mid-April. Its the Spring, approaching summer and we get a dump of snow in Denver. It will melt pretty quick because it will be sunny this week.

I didn't leave my apartment at all. This is in fact taken through the window - - I didn't even want to go outside to take a picture it was snowy, windy, and cold. I just watched movies and laid around the house and cleaned.

I did watch Desperate Housewives, which I have always been completely addicted too! Wow, that episode was good. On another blog, I will put all my insights and opinions on the Desperate Housewives craze and my obsession (and rationalizing my obsession). So many secrets came out though - Zack is really Dana?, WOAH!!!!

Well, so back to work for me. We were able to come to work late because of the mini-blizzard. I went out to coffee with a friend, so am a little late getting the workload done. Here we go for another crazy work week.... I will be leaving for Cali this weekend and next week for recruiting. More sun and tans! yesssssss!

We had a great time in Denver seeing all the sights you can possibly see. Here are some snapshots of Ashley's week here....

We went out to eat in Boulder and it starting snowing. Only in Denver, can it be so hot during the day and then snow at night. Weird.

Hello from Gainesville, Florida. I am here for work. Its been a whirlwind month so far. Can't believe its about to be April. My niece came in town which was fantastic. I will have to tell you more later and put some pictures up tp view. I also have pictures from Florida, but i think i forgot my camara cord, so thats a bust. But, Florida has been a great trip. We have been able to do alot for work...its a new trip and a little risk in being new territory for us, but it has been so good and great to talk to so many people.

So Florida is pretty much the bomb. We all know that, but now I am sold on it. I tell people all the time that I am born for the beach. I mean, I love snowboarding, but in reality I love the sun and being outside and in the heat. I'm from Texas, what do you expect? But, I did not expect to love florida OR the University of Florida. This is a great and beautiful campus. the community and campus reminds me alot of Texas A&M, except there is sunny skies (not overcast) and palm treees. You can't beat that! So, when my time in Denver comes to an end (if it were too...who knows the future really)...here I come Florida!!!! (or Cali, but Florida might be affordable).

I have been officially camping out at this place called the Swamp House - which is where I am right now. Now, here is the way to run a business in a college town. Its a restaraunt, OUTSIDE (with beautiful weather among trees and palm trees) and inside in this huge old white house. It is a bar at night and the trendy place to be. It also has wireless internet around and in it so people can go and check email or study on the second floor or around the bottom bar or whatever. They also have tvs everywhere making people come here to watch sports too. Its wonderful with great food and atmosphere. You should come. Its really rough working from here I tell ya..

I hope you all are well. My niece got accepted into the school she wanted to get in at D.C. That's weird,...I think she is really supposed to be at Texas A&M. But my job has definitely opened my eyes to other universities and other great experiences, but Texas A&M is still ranked up there. You should go to University of Florida now - okay, just kidding.

forgot to tell you about my new hair

My friend, Stacey, just sent me this picture and it shows a little of my new hair. I decided to be a little more spunky and add low lights, but this time in RED! Its only on the top, so I can hide the streaks in a ponytail and it really is subtle.

But my new thing is I might be changing into a red head soon with blonde highlights. Its very new for me and might be a little crazy. I've been a blonde for a few years and I really love it and am used to it. Going red/brown would be a way to slowly go back natural, well.... I really have no intentions of being natural to be honest. Maybe its an attempt to be a darker hair color and just something new.

Elizabeth, send me a freakin picture of your new hair cut!!!! Its been a month and I need to see it. I am glad you are okay and out of the hospital. Hope you are feeling better.

Everyone else, I promise I am not as superficial as I sound on this silly blog talking about hair and celebrities. But that is just another part of life. AND I promise there are bigger things going on in my life, but I am just not ready to open up on the "blog" yet and to the world.

You know its been real busy when I haven't put anything on here for a week. I have had full intentions for over a week, but work has been crazy for me and doesn't make me want to do much on a computer at night. I even thought being on a work trip (I'm in Manhattan, KS) would give me extra time possibly to update this darn "blog," but no not at all. So here i am. So accept my apologies, know that I love you, and i hope to do better (...or atleast once a week).

Kansas is good - its been busy. I am kinda leading 2 other great girls that are helping me this week. It has been wonderful and the girls have been alot of help and are hopefully having a great time. It does keep me more busy and on my toes having to "lead" and be in charge of other people and just be with people all the time. And it is just a busy trip with lots to do and get done. It is good experience though. I will be back in Denver on Friday - which is the same day as my wonderful niece is coming. I have great ideas on what I want to do with her, we'll see though. I will for sure let you know how the weekend goes and put up pictures for the masses. Life is so busy and fast for me during this season... I can't wait to sleep for a month straight though.... My life is exhausting. (...and yes, I would like some cheese with my freakin WHINE ;) )

I think I have also not been "blogging" because I recently felt a little freaked out and vulnerable on this thing. I don't mind it, but then it creeped me out to think, what if people are reading this that I know, but don't know they are reading this OR just complete strangers learning all sorts of things about me. It happens. Its the nature of the blog and the nature of putting yourself out there on the scary world of the internet. So i decided to keep on for now, and I decided to be a little less personal in some areas. I do think everyone should get a blog. I am trying to convince Ruth. She would be real funny. I think we might start a blog together under a different alias - it would have the real DIRT in our lives..... yeah, we will probably be too lazy honestly.... ot maybe we already have one.....oooooooo, wouldn't you like to know..... yes, i am clearly a dork. goodnight.

I also was able to see my dear friend, Jill, in Pittsburgh. She drove down from DC to hang out with me and RayLynn. She is wonderful - you would all love Jill. My mom loves Jill.

Pittsburgh has this place where they make such goofy burgers, but they are oddly good. They put cole slaw and french fries on the sandwhich so you don't forks. I can't remember what the place is called, but we ended up eating there twice because it was so unique and really cheap. Here is RayLynn and Jill there. Man, I can't believe I forgot what this place is called....

So I saw Amish people for the first time in New Wilmington, PA. I only took a picture of the horse and buggy, I didn't want to be obnoxious and take pictures of them. People told me Amish people don't like their picture taken and then people also told me it is a touristy thing. If its a touristy thing, wouldn't they want people to take pictures and want to see the way these people live ? That confuses me. So here is a picture of a horse and buggy, but they were all over the place.

So... part of my job is speaking and sharing for work in front of groups. So here I am on the road in Pittsburgh in front of a group.

Okay, funny story - well, actually its embarrassing... Do you see the shirt I am wearing? Earlier that day when I was speaking and wearing the same outfit, I really felt out of my mind. When I spoke, I felt frazzled and knew I had not done my best. I sat down by RayLynn (who was with me on this trip) and asked her... she said it was great and no big deal. I also asked her if she noticed anything else?... She said no. I asked her again if she noticed anything right then about me? And she couldn't notice or see anything. But to my personal embarrassment, my shirt was on inside out. Thank goodness,..NO ONE noticed and NOW you guys all know. Embarrassing moments happen to me everyday, and you can't help but laugh at yourself. SOOO here is the infamous shirt, but in the picture it is worn correctly. :)

Hello all! I am in Pittsburgh right now! I can't write long. I will write more when I am at our next hotel that has wireless internet. It is snowy and freezing here - I'm ready to be back in sunny colorado. We are having a great time and working hard. Lots of late nights and busy schedules.

I will be putting a picture up tomorrow of recruiting and the city here. I will also be editing this blog. I hear my sister is having fears that I might get a stalker about having information online. To be honest, the nature of my job actually puts me more out there than this "blog", as I am constantly giving out personal numbers, emails,etc. and talking to groups and one-on-ones. I also am going to be editing some of the past entries out of respect for the ex. Just letting you guys know.

NBA All Star Weekend

So..... My friend gets a call early Saturday morning, from none other than Mr. Ryan Cabrera himself. Ryan is friends with people I know and he really is a great guy - very down to earth. I have met him just a few times. AND Lets just ignore who his girlfriend is.... ANYWAY, Ryan was performing at some of the NBA All Star weekend and was leaving town and GAVE us his NBA ALL STAR WEEKEND PASS TICKETS. I could not believe it! How could someone pass this up!

Here is Ryan Cabrera over the summer when he was in Denver:

The game and weekend was great. We went to the Slam Dunk contest. (Which I LOVE Steve Nash now). And the next night we went to the All Star Game. Saw tons of celebrities and great performances,all for free. I mean these tickets were worth $500-$1000 each. It was unreal.

But I decided something... its just a theory... Our tickets (or Ryan Cabrera's tickets) were on the first level in the corner about 15 rows back. They were good, but obviosly not the best tickets. There were lots celebrities AT the game, but none were sitting by me or in my section. So my theory is IF you are a celebrity or something where image is important and part of your job I guess.... you will only sit on the first two rows to an all star game (or any game). I know it seems like a simple thought, but for the price of these tickets, you would think people (meaning celebrities) would be all over the place. BUT nope - only on the first 2 rows. So I am assuming Ryan Cabrera would not sit in these seats because it could hurt his image. I mean he is not an A- list celebrity or anything, but sitting here would automatically put you in X-list celebrity status (which is not a status). Anyway,....I sound like I care and am all about celebrities - I PROMISE I am not. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be there and be apart of an All Star game and I'm glad I went.... I would not ever pay for these tickets though, that would make me crazy.

You are wondering who I saw right? Okay, Okay,....I saw P Diddy, Nelly, Jay Z, Destiny's Child, Gabrielle Union, Vivica Fox, Cedrick the Entertainer, TI, Fabulous, LeAnn Rimes, Majic Johnson, David Robinson, and ofcourse all the NBA athletes that were playing and attending and probably lots more that I can't remember. I took some pictures, but I will put them on an ofoto site later for you guys. Here is a pic of me.....:)

NBA All Star Weekend & The Notebook - (weird combo)

Ruth and I are a little sad. Its a big weekend in Denver with everyone and everything right in front of us. So many athletes, celebrities, and fun things too do in the Mile High City this weekend. I am not celebrity crazy, but I do like to have a fun time and love the excitement of seeing an artist I like or someone I respect. I was excited for this weekend UNTIL I found out how expensive everything is and how you can't go anywhere without being loaded. Dang it. The cover for most places to go out is over $100. :( So Ruth and I are sad, but we just can't spend any money on something so dumb. I'm trying to pay off debt still.

Speaking of Ruth - - We watched the Notebook the other night with our neighbor friend. I love that darn movie. I have said its a cross between "Sweet Home Alabama" and the book "Redeeming Love." Maybe not, but its the best freakin love story and comparable to those. So Ruth held her composure throughout the movie. I warn people about watching it - I have NEVER cried more in my whole life when I saw it the very first time in the theatre. But as the credits were rolling, Ruth lost control and was crying so much. I kinda felt bad for how much she was crying - It is the movie's fault, not mine though. Now she is completely obsessed with The Notebook. Oh yes, she is now reading the novel and is almost finished, and oh yes, we watched all of the special features last night. I love my roommate, she is funny! So I highly recommend the Notebook, but most people already knew that.

Today the staff for where I work took a Ski/ Snowboard Day!!! How sweet is that! We went to Winterpark to play in the fresh powder that just came the day before. Not everyone went, but around 13 of us did. It was a blast and it was one of the first few times I have boarded in that much powder. Powder is challenging. I used so many muscles i never even knew I had. The great part about Powder is though if you fall - -you have the nicest landing EVER!

Work isn't too bad from the slopes, but then you have to come back to an office full of work for you to make up. It was worth it though. And I loved to be able to laugh and play with coworkers.

Mom and Dad got back from Rome safely - I'm glad you had a great trip!

Soooo.... As I was driving home from work on Valentines Day my car started to slow down and go around 40 mph. Last time this happened in the Toyota - a rod went through the engine and the whole ENGINE had to be replaced for 150,000 pennies. (Is that right?) But this was in the Jetta, which is supposed to be in good condition. So the car died, and my first though was this SUCKS, but atleast I just got the Toyota back from the shop this weekend. It makes my decision easier on what to drive.

I sat there calling EVERYONE I knew who was close. But what is everyone doing at 6pm on Valentines Day?? They are having dinner or doing something "romantic" or I don't even know what people do on this stupid holiday. I got a hold of my student friend, Julie. I knew she was studying, but I still did not want to bother her. She was great to come and help me out (even though she got lost). She took me home and my neighbor took me back to check things out. It was embarrassing. I was now ruining everyone's Valentines Day (okay, that was dramatic - I know).

So after talking to my sister and trying some things out - I found out what was wrong with the Jetta. I will admit it however it is embarrassing, for the first time ever...... I RAN OUT OF GAS! Its not my fault though, because its a new car and the light saying you are low burnt out. That is what i will say in my defense.

So Happy Valentines Day to me - I'm glad the Jetta is not broken!

I was going to wear all black as a joke on this fine miserable holiday. But I didn't. I am cheery and wearing pink. Actually, I am not really anti-valentines day at all. I will probably hang out with roommate and neighbors. Just as friends though. No worries. I have too much drama right now with friends and ex-bfs.

I am busy at work! I leave next week to Pittsburgh and have TOO many loose ends to finish up with the trip. I am struggling at finding the motivation to travel again this year and get everything done I need too.

This weekend is the NBA ALL-STAR game and parties this weekend. Its exciting to hear all the hype and the celebrities that are supposed to be here...Beyonce, Jay-Z, P Diddy, Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri, and tons of others and ofcourse the athletes. We might go out one night and try to spot some celebrities (if its not too expensive). I'll keep you posted though. ;)

Car dilemmas and decisions

Okay, i am trying to choose between these two cars. Its a long (and great) story why I have both of them. Anyway...

I was getting the Toyota repaired to sell, but I knew this would happen. Once I got back into it and drove an automatic again, I would miss it and be confused. I feel like I'm talking about a relationship....nope, its just a car.

So, anyway...here are the cars I am trying to choose between. ANY help or advise would be appreciated. The original idea was to sell the Toyota and use the money to pay the HUGE repair on the Toyota I just had done AND then to use the rest of the money to pay off debt. I'm trying to be responsible and smart. The jetta is a standard, but other than that they are both comparable cars in worth.

So....Should I drive the Jetta or Corolla???? Help me out! ;)

I will try to take more pics this weekend. I am planning on going out tonight in Denver and then snowoarding at Vail on Saturday. I just found out they finished repairing my 95 Toyota Corrolla. The workout strike is officially over!

It's true! I love to go on strike. I went on a laundry strike for about 4 weeks. I couldn't last though. I have plenty of clothes, don't worry- I wasn't wearing dirty clothes. I had just been unmotivated to do anything around the house. I was pathetic. So i went on strike. That strike ended last Friday though... thankgoodness...

The Workout Strike started about 5 months ago though!!!! The reasons for the workout strike....
1. I wasn't training for anything.
2. Weather is colder now in the winter
3. No motivation.
(and the most important....)
4. My Discman broke and I have been determined for a year now to get an mp3 player.

The mp3 player would serve both for working out and for when I am travelling a ton. If you know me, you know I love my music!

I have officially received an mp3 player and am now announcing...

This is Kim and I at Keystone. We went snowboarding there on Saturday. Kim is improving more and more - she is a pro! I know Kim from going through LeadTime together and she now lives in Boulder. We had a blast there and met up with a new friend from my apartment (yeah, I kinda have a new crush on him...oops). Isn't Kim so HOT in this pic??

After snowboarding, a group of us made our way out dancing at LoDos. Another great time and memory. No pictures though from that.

This has been a fun time in my life. I am so busy with work, but I am so thankful for the friends and support I have here -and the new friendships I have. The Lord has been good to me - its been a stressful last month between car breaking down big time, breaking up with boyfriend, and just the heavy workload I am experiencing at work because of some changes.

We can all be numb at times. Its all a part of the seasons of life that grows us. We just can't get stuck in numbness you know. Some cool friends of mine are teaching me how to knit. Okay, I really do not like knitting. I really want to like it, but it is very difficult for me. And not to mention, that yarn can add up and I can't afford another hobby. It would be a great skill to learn though sometime. I enjoy hanging out with my knitting friends though sometimes. It is fun ot chill and catch up and make something (for those who can multitask like that and actually LIKE knitting).

BUT, I learned this great thing for people who are "knit-challenged". It is finger knitting. It is very instant gratifying....the scarf I made took 25 minutes to make. And it is so easy and mindless. You don't have to worry about poking your eyes out with needles or "dropping stitches" or any of the other hastles with knitting.

So here I am "finger knitting" my second scarf. I decided to wear it as I was knitting. Isn't it great? If you are jealous, you can come with me next time and we'll show you how (actually Stacey will show you how).

I am soooooo domestic! I make all of my clothes and food from scratch! ;)
